Dave Andreychuk

Dave Andreychuck was born on September 29, 1963 in Hamilton, Ontario. He played his minor hockey with the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League and was drafted in the first round, 16th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in 1982. Dave joined the Sabres halfway through the 1982-83 NHL regular season and quickly began to make a mark for himself, scoring 37 points in 43 games. He went on to play 11 very successful years in Buffalo before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs during the 1992-93 season. Andreychuck went to Toronto along with Darren Puppa and a first round draft pick for Grant Fuhr.

He posted some of his best offensive years as a Maple Leaf, playing on a dynamite line with Doug Gilmour. He scored 120 goals and added 88 assits for 208 points as a Toronto Maple Leaf. He went on to play with the New Jersey Devils for four seasons before making short stops with the Colorado Avalance, Boston Bruins and Buffalo Sabres. In 2002 he decided to head south the sunny Florida and signed on with the Tampa Bay Lightning. After playing 22 seasons in the NHL Dave Andreychuck finally won the Stanley Cup with the Lightning in 2004. Andreychuk has signed a two year deal with the Lighthing which may see him play until he is 44 years old.
