Curtis Joseph
Curtis "Cujo" Joseph was born on April 29, 1967 in Keswick, Ontario. He went to play hockey for the Notre Dame Hounds in Saskatechwan
and eventually earned a scholarship with the University of Wisconsin Badgers of the NCAA. He played a year of collegiate hockey
before signing as a free agent with the St. Louis Blues. He made the jump to the NHL during the 1989-90 season and was the number
one goalie by 1991-92. By 1995 he was out of St. Louis and helping the up and coming Edmonton Oilers.
Cujor helped the Oilers make two straight second rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs but in 1998 he shocked the hockey world by
signing as a free agent with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Coming back home was a dream come true and Curtis was a standout on the ice.
He helped guide the Leafs into the playoffs but fell short of his ultimate goal of winning the Stanley Cup. In yet another surprise
move, Curtis Joseph signed with the Detroit Red Wings in 2002. He did not show is usual form in the two years in Motown due to
injuries and the return of Dominik Hasek. In the 2005 off-season he signed with the Phoenix Coyotes.
